After we made the decision that we would RV Full-time, I can tell you that my (Tina) brain and thoughts went into overdrive. It is the equivalent to having too many tabs open on your computer!
I told myself I need to put together a notebook and keep everything in it to keep it organized. Yeah, right…that is easier said than done. When I started researching this on the internet, the amount of information found was, well, overwhelming. Where to start? Here are some of the questions that started running through my mind:
What kind of RV should we get? What options do we need? When should we set our launch date for? When should we sell the house? What do we need to do to get the house ready to sell? How will we adjust to living on the road in less than 400 sq ft? Navy showers? Downsizing? How will we stay connected? What will we do with the things we want to keep, but can’t take? What can we take? What should we take? What do we need….and the list goes on…which is why my brain was mush!!
Let’s take a look at the very first question, What kind of RV should we get? There are so many options to choose from in an RV. We initially thought that we would get a travel trailer. Then I started looking at a lot of YouTube videos and blogs of people who are already RVing full-time, and we are leaning towards a Class A. We also are learning so much from other full timers, things they have learned along the way that we will have to consider as well, such as, solar power, lithium batteries, washer/dryer and more!!
For those of you who might not know how many different types of RVs there are here is a break down:
That is pretty sums it up, but there are even a few different types within these types. OVERLOAD! This coming weekend, we are headed to the Dallas RV Super Show. Hopefully while there, we will get a handle on what we like, what we need and what we can afford! While we are there we will also try and go to a couple of seminars as well as taking photos and videos, so come back and check them all out.
So like I said, we are leaning towards the Class A Motorhome. However, we will look at other options at the Show, and we will show y’all all the fun!!
Do you have an RV? Let us know what type you have and why you bought it, and if you are happy with your investment in the comments! We would love to hear from you!
